Plastic Frames

“Now, this is a very interesting subject to me. There are so many different kinds of plastic frames that I think are really cool.” Yes, on that I agree with you totally. The different kinds of plastic frames that I’ve seen out there are absolutely beautiful. I’ve mostly seen the ready made frames, but I know that there are custom made plastic frames as well. I’m not too sure where you would go to find them, but I know that they are out there. You might start by doing a detailed Internet search for them. This is something I just don’t know that much about.

“To begin an Internet search; I’d need to type plastic frames into the search box and see what you come up with. My guess is that you’ll come up a whole bunch of stuff that you really don’t need or want. You really need to sift through the results that you’re given to find what you really want to read and look at. I know that I’ve been overwhelmed when I’ve done any Internet searches.

“I know that all sorts of picture and document frames are made of plastic. What can you tell me about this? Can you expand on my meager knowledge?” I’ll do my best to help you in this. Yes, a good made picture, document, certificate and Diploma frames are also plastic frames. I’ll say this much, upon looking at these frames… I would never have guessed that some of them are indeed plastic. They look so much like they are made from wood that I have found myself looking twice at times. There is also another kind of frame that might fall into this category… and that is polystyrene certificate/document frames. Polystyrene is a blend of plastic and other chemicals that makes it stronger and more durable than just plain plastic frames.

“I understand what you’re talking about! What else can you think of about these frames that I might want to know? Wait a minute, I just thought of something else… what about the Acrylic frames that I’ve seen all over the place? Aren’t they plastic as well?” Yes, I believe that they (Acrylic frames) belong in this category as well. Acrylic is a plastic compound, a polymer, if you will, that’s very durable and a little more shatter resistant than plain old plastic. This gives them more flexibility and a bit longer in the lifespan department than plain plastic frames. Acrylic frames do have a distinct advantage over their counterparts when it comes to field of visibility… there aren’t any frame moulding pieces to get in the way of your view when you’re using an Acrylic frame. Some people prefer the Acrylic frame to its ordinary plastic counterpart for just this reason. I think it’s silly myself. To me, a plastic frame is a plastic frame. I, too, am amazed when it comes to the selection, styles and colors that you can find out there in plastic frames.
