A Plain, Old Picture Frame? I Think Not!
This is the scenario…you have just received this year’s sets of your children’s school pictures. This sends you on a frenzied search through the house for more than one Picture Frame. The current frames are falling apart; as they are more than ten years old.
About this time you decide that this time none of the picture frames would be just a plain, old Picture Frame. With this in mind, you grab your keys, wallet and jacket and then drive to Wal-Mart. Here you can browse to your heart’s content in the Craft’s section and look at any Picture Frame you choose to look at. You spend nearly an hour just looking before you finally choose three brand new light Oak frames; one frame for each picture. Most of these are ready made frames; which means that all you need to do when you get them home is put your picture in the new frame.
Next, you wander over to the paints section to choose some paint and the brushes you want to use to decorate your chosen frames. The selection of colors is as vast as the selection of picture frames. There are Acrylics, Oils, Poster and Water Color paints. You can’t decide what color… no, make that colors that you are going to use; so you decide that you’re going to check out the brushes and choose a couple of new brushes for this and many other projects in the future. As you’re browsing; you are thinking “Boy, it’s a good thing I’ve got today off. I’m having a blast just browsing!! Each picture frame will be custom designed and very unique.”
As you still haven’t been able to choose the paints you want, you wander over to the decals to see if you see anything that catches your eye. It turns out that you’ve found several sheets of decals that you decide to buy. These are: one that has Silver Spirals, one that has Blue Lightning Bolts, one that has Clouds and the fourth has Horses. You go back over to the paint and choose 5 bottles of Folk Art Acrylic Paint in these colors: Wicker White, Rose Pink, Lt. Blue, Royal Blue and a Dark Purple. It amazes you when you read that these paints have a waterbase as well as a smooth texture. The label also says that the colors can be intermixed easily and that you need to allow one hour’s drying time between coats. What really pleases you, as a mother, is that these paints wash off with soap and water as does the fact that you can keep each picture frame clean the same way.
Now, having gotten everything that you were after, you bring your items up to the front register to pay for them. After that, you head for home; very satisfied with your choices. You are very thankful to find the house empty and quiet when you get home. This gives you the tranquility you need to decorate each new picture frame. You decorate each one differently, using all four of the decal designs on each picture frame. You’ve just finished decorating these frames as everyone comes home for the night. Next Task: Getting Dinner Ready!
