Award Frames
Award Frames
“If you don’t mind, would you please tell me the difference between award frames, certificate frames, Diploma frames and plain old picture frames?” Well, ma’am, to be quite honest with you, there really isn’t that much of a difference between award frames and the others you mentioned. The only real difference is in how you put each type of frame to use. “Alright, what materials are used to make this type of frame?” I can tell you with certainty that wood, metal, plastic and polystyrene are used, just like the other types of frames.
“Please talk to me about the available colors that award frames come in?” I would be glad to! All you need to do is think about all the other kinds of frames that you’ve seen. In wood, you can choose from: natural – no stain at all, brown, black or white. When you’re looking at metal frames, you have these colors to choose from: black, grey, silver, gold, brass, white, pink, red, cranberry, navy blue, cobalt blue, evergreen (dark green) and on occasion orange. How does that sound for a wide variety of choices? “It sounds really great! I did not know that all of those colors were out there.”
“The main differences sound interesting. What can you tell me about the sizes that award frames are available in?” Certainly, there are four main sizes: 5 in x 7 in, 8 in x 10 in, b ½ in x 11 in and 11 in x 14. These are the most common sizes of award frames. “What kinds of wood are these frames made from?” It’s pretty much the same as any of the other types of wood frames; Oak, Walnut, Maple or Cherry. On occasion, you might be able to find one made from Cedar.
“Can award frames be custom made?” Yes, indeed they can; though I don’t really know why you would go through all the fuss and hassle when there are plenty of ready made award frames already on the market. You, however, can have such a frame custom made if that suits your fancy, your whims or your needs.
“Are there also Acrylic award frames?” I would imagine that there are, though I have not seen any as of late. There are no colors or textures to choose from in this case. Your only choice is what size you need.
There aren’t many different widths that you need to worry or concern yourself about. Most of that time you these frames aren’t more than ½ inch wide. There are some that are wider than that, though I haven’t seen them. I am speaking from a standpoint of direct, personal knowledge, not hearsay or Internet research.
“Speaking of searching the Internet, where would I find the most and the best information?” For that, you simply need to type award frames into your search box and then weed your way through all of the resulting entries. I had, at one time, done some research on topics just like this and I have found that there are 4 million 5 hundred different entries under this particular topic. That does not say that all of them will have the information that you’re looking for.
